What people say
Russian cuisine is known for its rich and diverse flavors, and ZIMA Russian Restaurant in Frith Street, London, is a perfect example of this. Led by Russia's most celebrated chef Alexei Zimin, the restaurant offers a unique blend of street and gourmet food that will leave your taste buds tingling with delight.
The menu features an array of tapas-style creations that showcase classic Russian ingredients such as sturgeon, herring, scallops, crab, venison, and caviar. From Kamchatka staple Crab claw with bread crisps & red caviar to Ufa favorite Honey & sour cream cake "Medovik," each dish is a masterpiece in itself.
What sets ZIMA apart from other restaurants is their homemade vodka infusions. With flavors like fennel & tarragon; basil & strawberry; and lingonberry & apple with curry leaves, you're sure to find a new favorite drink here.
The restaurant itself is spread over three floors in a grade II listed Soho townhouse. The basement has a Soviet-era ryumochnaya (vodka bar) feel with slogan- and symbol-embossed propaganda porcelain. The ground and first floors are slightly more formal but still offer an immersive dining experience.
ZIMA also has a delightful and spacious terrace that's perfect for al fresco dining during the summer months. And if you're looking to host a private event, the entire restaurant can be hired out for your special occasion.
Overall, ZIMA Russian Restaurant is an excellent choice for anyone looking to experience authentic Russian cuisine in London. With its delicious food, unique drinks, and charming ambiance, it's no wonder why this restaurant has become so popular among locals and tourists alike.
