Step outside and it hits you. That thick, heavy air. The kind that makes you move just a little bit slower, seeking out the shady side of the street. It’s a heat that feels fiercely familiar- more than a little bit like a sweltering, mid-afternoon in Bombay.

Swing on by to the cool, shaded sanctuary of any Dishoom café, pull up a chair, and let us revive you with the ultimate, time-honoured antidote:

Mango Kulfi - Satin-smooth, sweet real mango.
Pistachio Kulfi - Creamy, proper pistachio.
Malai Kulfi - The champion, with a gentle hint of caramel.

Step inside, find comfort in the cool, and let a kulfi work its magic.

We are delighted to welcome mango season back to our Dishoom cafés and Permit Rooms for a fleeting moment. Join us from May 4th to June 7th for our seasonal special and limited-edition mango goodness before the moment slips away.

Chef Arun has been roaming Kingsbury Market on a tireless quest for the very best mangoes, searching for that specific, sun-drenched sweetness that defines the season. It is a pursuit of memory of juice-dripping chins, sticky fingers, and the quiet act of love found in a bowl of perfectly peeled cubes. Amongst the crates and the chatter, he has found exactly what he was looking for: the Alphonso (the King) and the Kesar (the Queen).

Keep an eye out for all things mango in the weeks to come.

We settle into the month by delighting in evocative scents of home, commemorating a South Asian trailblazer of deepest importance and stocking our kitchen cupboards with time-honoured jars of ghee.

No meal at Dishoom is truly finished until the final spoonful. If you seek that fiery and sweet sensation, look no further than our Dishoom Chocolate Pudding - a melting-in-the-middle masterpiece.

For those craving a cooling and creamy classic, our Pistachio Kulfi offers that authentic, proper pistachio flavour that transports you straight to the streets of Bombay. Or, find total harmony in our Coconutty Fruit Crumble, where a vibrant medley of pineapple, apple, and raspberry meets toasted coconut crumble and silken coconut ice cream.

Whatever your choice, these delights are the only way to bring your story to a perfect close.

There are lunches, and then there are Lunches - the kind where the afternoon stretches out and the conversation never quite finds a closing chapter.

It begins with a plate of Masala Prawns, charred and spicy, peeled with reckless abandon as the first stories of the day take flight. Then comes the creamy, coconut-heavy simmer of the Goan Monkfish Curry, a dish that demands to be shared and savoured. Between helpings of Grilled Greens, one uses fluffy pillows of Steamed Basmati Rice to mop up every last drop of golden gravy, ensuring nothing is left behind but the laughter.

Our Vaisakhi Special: Sarson Ka Saag with Makki Ki Roti

A much-loved Punjabi stable: slow-cooked mustard leaves and spinach – both abundant at this time – are tempered with ghee, cumin, green chillies, garlic and onions. Generously buttered, it is served beside classic makki (maize) rotis, unexpected-but-welcome tamarind-onion chutney and jaggery (for nibbling). A labour of love, and wholly comforting to all who partake.

Available every day from 12pm, Monday 6th to Sunday 19th April.

A Sunday Morning to Remember.

Last Sunday, the morning air was crisp, the trainers were laced, and the Bombay spirit was in full swing. We were truly chuffed to host our friends from and for a community 5K through the city streets.

There is something quite magical about sharing miles and conversation, only to be rewarded with the comfort of a Bacon Naan Roll and the warmth of a freshly brewed House Chai. To everyone who ran, walked, and chatted their way to the finish line—thank you for making it such a memorable morning.

This Easter, we invite our chote (little) patrons to take a turn at Family Matka. It is a simple game of chance, played with one brass pot and a single die.

The stakes? Rather high, we think. Should your little one roll a six, your entire family meal is on us - completely wiped clean.

Whether they are busy devouring a stack of fluffy pancakes or tucking into their favourite eggs, your mini-hero might just end up treating the adults to breakfast. And because no one should leave empty-handed, every young player receives a pocket-sized prize, regardless of the number rolled.

The Matkas insist you come and try your luck.

Family Matka may be played in café, Monday – Friday, between Monday 30th March and Friday 17th April 2026. Book a table or walk in and request the bill before 6pm. See link in bio for full terms and conditions.

A mid-week moment of true togetherness. This week, we had the pleasure of hosting the wonderful and friends for an Iftar to remember.

As the sun dipped below the horizon, the room filled with the clatter of plates and the warm hum of stories shared over bowls of Chicken Ruby and stacks of hot, buttered naan.

There is a particular magic in the breaking of bread at dusk—a reminder that no matter how busy the city, there is always room at the table for community and kindness. A heartfelt thank you to all who joined us.

As part of our ‘What’s In My Dabba?’ series, we get a glimpse into friends’ kitchens, as they share judicious spicing of favourite dishes, along with hosting rituals and tips inherited from elders.

This month, we join Arooj Aftab (.arooj), fashion creative and inclusion consultant, to look inside her masala dabba – or more fittingly her masala cupboard. By her side is Arooj’s unending source of kitchen wisdom, her Ami (Grandmother), who cooks by scent, intuition and memory. The pair generously share a treasured recipe: their chicken doodh wali yakhni. The dish naturally takes centre stage at the family’s Eid feast, a festivity Arooj relates to deep gratitude, collective kindness and untethered generosity.

The ancient festival of Nowruz (meaning ‘new day’ in Persian) is here, ushering in the spring equinox and the hope of brighter days to come.

Each year, our Chef’s create a special for this holiday. Behold Pista Gulshirin, a cream-cake of Parsi renewal. Delicate layers of soft sponge and airiest pistachio cream are topped with a sprinkling of pistachios (pista), dried rose petals (gul) and chikki (nut brittle).

Available in Dishoom cafés until Sunday 29th March, every day from 12pm.

Some days call for a little extra chamak. Saris silkier, mornings slower, meals more abundant.

For the motherly figures who sweeten life with small acts of care - cut fruit pressed into hands, shawls draped ‘in case it gets cold baba’, and the inevitable “reached?” text - return the fuss this weekend.

Join us in café for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Tables full of favourite dishes and tipples, little ones happy with our chote children’s menu and Bombay colouring sheets. ✨
