An immense mural brimming with references to Diego Riviera’s striking murals is the all important backdrop for a Mexican feast at EP Battersea ⚡️
The immense artwork is the creation of .broadley.77 and is a nod to London and Mexico City. A London skyline, including Battersea Power Station, frames a smoking hot depiction of Mexico’s active volcano ‘Popocatépetl’. Look closer and you’ll find it filled with diabolical imagery, including trucks laden with freshly bottled mezcal.🍸

Dia de Mu***os might be behind us, but we’re keeping the party going all month long with the marigold margarita on our specials. 🌼
Known in Mexico as cémpasuchil, these vibrant flowers are everywhere at this time of year. Their musky scent is thought to attract the souls of loved ones, as too does their vibrant colour. Mixed up in a floral scented margarita, it’s our tribute to Mexican traditions and celebrating life while we’re at it.

A technicolour of beans for our Frijoles Charros 🌈
Sourced from the state of Tlaxcala by our partners these beans are known for their vibrancy and robust flavour. In our Frijoles Charros, literally ‘Cowboy Beans’, the beans are cooked with chorizo and smoked pork belly, and served with a topping of Jalapeño for a little kick.

The first of the Ofrendas have arrived at El Pastor 🌼
Claudia of came to EP Coal Drops Yard on Friday to install the Ofrenda she has created in collaboration with Mexican women working in London. It is as colourful and celebratory as we expected, decorated with papel picado and vibrant marigolds. On the altar are items such as chillis, pan de mu**to and sugar skulls in this celebration to life and death.
Ofrendas, or offerings, are a key part of Dia de Mu***os festivities. They are traditionally installed in peoples’ homes in memory of loved ones and this week they will be installed at each of our El Pastor restaurants. Come along to see them, and raise a glass of mezcal while you’re here.

Meet the man behind our EP mezcals, Guillermo Abad Hernandez, A.K.A. Don Memo; a 5th generation mezcalero with a story to tell.
His agave fields are located in Matatlan, Oaxaca, in an awe-inspiring valley with agave plants as far as the eye can see.
Each batch of mezcal Don Memo makes for us is small batch because they rely on artisanal, non-industrial production. It also means we can experiment with different agave and tasting notes to keep things fun. The result is some punchy mezcal that is to be sipped, never shot. ⚡️

Introducing Masafina wheat tortillas 🌾
Our friends Andrea and Laura at .masafina produce traditional flour tortillas from regeneratively grown British wheat.
Wheat tortillas are a staple in northern Mexico, particularly in Chihuahua, Sonora and Sinaloa. Their lighter flavour compared to corn tacos makes them for our Baja fish tacos.
Check them out on our new menu and let us know what you think.

Mexican restaurants are known for their vibrant flavors, fresh ingredients, and deliciously spicy dishes. El Pastor in Stoney Street, London is no exception. This quality Mexican taqueria offers a unique dining experience with tortillas made from scratch in-house and a focus on the mighty pastor.
El Pastor's menu boasts an array of mouth-watering tacos, including their signature al pastor taco made with succulent pork marinated in a blend of spices and slow-cooked on a spit. The restaurant also offers an impressive selection of mezcal, a traditional Mexican spirit that perfectly complements the bold flavors of the food.
But El Pastor is more than just a restaurant - it's an experience. The atmosphere is lively and inviting, with music adding to the festive ambiance. And if you're looking for something extra special, be sure to check out Casa & Plaza Pastor, El Pastor's big sister coming soon to King's Cross.
