60 ballet students assembled in Covent Garden’s historic Market Building to showcase the launch of the new Central Avenue installation, inspired by the grace and movement of ballet and celebrating the 100 year legacy of The Royal Ballet School.

Something new is taking shape… 🩰✨
To celebrate 100 years of The Royal Ballet School, a new aerial installation by sculptural artist Pauline Loctin will be arriving in the Market Building this summer.
‘A Century of Becoming’ will transform Central Avenue with 25 hand-crafted, suspended paper sculptures spanning 50 metres overhead - inspired by the grace, discipline and movement of ballet, and the architectural lines that connect The Royal Ballet School to the Royal Opera House.
Launching 22nd June, this landmark installation invites you to look up and experience a century of movement, craft and artistry reimagined in paper form.
