It’s been as tough as everyone tells you it can be. Still we gave it our best shot and just fell short. It’s out of our hands now but the time is right to let someone else have a go. Please be kind and support whoever that may be in the same way you supported us! A big thankyou to everyone at Waltham Forest council who genuinely did so much to be there for us. hosts a preposterously nostalgic evening featuring the Arctic Monkeys’ debut, played and bellowed along to in full, on the 20th anniversary of its release.
Act I: a scene-setting buffet of early noughties indie bangers.
Act II: the era-defining 40 minutes and 56 seconds of Whatever.
Act III: a chronological romp through the two decades since, from the band themselves (heavy on AM: light on Tranquility Base) to the musical world as it evolved around them. A sickeningly emotional dive into the past, featuring special guest DJs, wilfully niche archive footage, and impassioned speeches raging against the merciless passage of time. Do believe the hype.
