“¿Y SI SÍ?” v “IT’S COMING HOME”

Can’t get over each country’s phrase this World Cup. 3 simple words summarising them to perfection.
“IT’S COMING HOME” An affirmation from a 1st world country since before the tournament even begins. A country where they are used and accustomed to privileges that are not even considered privileges. Where good things happen and they are expected to happen. A well deserved and confident statement.
On the other hand, you have the ¿Y SI SÍ? Coming from a 3rd world country, where most of it’s population is fighting daily to stay afloat. Abandoned by its own government and tired of all the corruption and insecurity they face every day. One win is celebrated as if the World Cup had already been won. Then another win and the celebrations keep getting bigger, all of the sudden the team is doing better than ever, so behold comes the “y si si?” But, what if? Cannot even fathom winning. Sounds like not even in the imagination of its people there is an actual chance of winning. Because “what if?”👀

Either way! As a Mexican restaurant (on Tuesdays during summer) 🤣 in England we wish them both the best! 💪💚🇲🇽🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿
